Maggie Pratt
Maggie Pratt was a Catoctin Mountain Park Artist-in-Residence in fall 2012. She is from Frostburg, MD and has an M.Ed. in Art Education from Frostburg State University. She has also studied painting with Chuck McLauglin in Morehead City, NC and James C. Groves in Frostburg, MD. Maggie is currently an adjunct instructor at Frostburg State University and has also taught art at Tri-State Community School for the Arts in Cumberland, MD and Garrett College of Maryland. She switched from watercolor to oils in a desire to work in a large-scale format. She continues to explore and experiment with this great medium. She has exhibited her art in several galleries and her writing has been published in several magazines.
During her residency, Maggie presented a program for 26 students in Laura Day's art class at Catoctin High School. She also painted and interacted with the public at the Visitor’s Center (56 people attended).
