Shannon Durbin

Shannon Durbin was the Artist in Residence at Catoctin Mountain Park in fall 2013.  Shannon lives in Los Angles, CA and received a BA in Fine Arts from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA in 2002.  She has been exhibiting her work since 1999.  Shannon spent a day with Linda Day’s art class from Catoctin High School.  They began the day with a quick presentation of her work and the art process.  Then they hiked the Hog Rock Nature Trail with sketching materials and packed lunches.  The reached the overlook and sat on the boulders to sketch the plants, trees and the beautifully framed view of Frederick County below.
